Annual General Meeting – 19th May 6pm

Posted: 2022-05-16

Over the past two years we have made vast improvements to the Village Hall, not all of them visible! As a result, we are pleased to report that the calendar is getting busier and busier, so that at times it is difficult to find a vacant slot!

However, there is still a lot to do and we would value your feedback and suggestions for ways to make it even better.

Please come along on 19th May to show your support for what is fast becoming a well-used community facility in our village.
There will be refreshments!

More acoustic panels

Posted: 2021-09-04

Thanks to another generous donation from a local resident we’ve been able to purchase another four acoustic panels for the main hall. And thanks to the loan of a scaffold tower we’ve been able to fit them too! The hall is now a much less noisy space 🙂

Open for business!

We’re open at last, and the bookings are coming in!

It’s been wonderful to hear so many positive comments about all the recent improvements, and we now have regular weekly bookings for Zumba and Yoga classes as well as the long establed Villages Voices community choir – and more enquiries are in the pipeline.

More progress

Posted: 2021-06-23

Progress continues in the Village Hall!

  • The main toilets are now fully restored and are ready for use.
  • The back door has been replaced.
  • The acoustic panels have been delivered and are ready to install once we can borrow a tall enough step-ladder!
  • For the skittle alley, the new cover for the side gulley has been made and just needs finishing, and a new cover for the pit has been designed and will be installed very soon.
  • Additional cupboards and worktops have been installed in the kitchen and the bar area.
  • Child-size tables and chairs are available for children’s parties, along with plastic plates, bowls etc.
  • The new meeting room is almost complete, and carpetting is due to be fitted in early July.
  • More work has been done on the car parking area, levelling and filling in puddles.
  • and loads more little bits and pieces …

We’re still looking forward to our official reopening just as soon as conditions allow!

Renovation progress

Posted: 2021-05-10

Lots of progress in the Village Hall!

  • The old toilets have new lighting and extraction fitted, damaged plaster is being repaired and complete redocoration is well underway.
  • The floors have been professionally cleaned in the main hall, the kitchen and bar areas, and the toilets.
  • A new cover is being made for the gulley at the side of the skittle alley to remove the trip hazard that has plagued hall visitors for many years – but rest assured that the skittle alley will still be available for use in future events!
  • Additional cupboards and worktop will soon be installed in the kitchen, and the bar area will soon have a new worktop fitted too.
  • Child-size tables and chairs are on order for children’s parties.
  • Acoustic ceiling panels are on order to help improve the hall acoustic, so it should be less noisy in future.

We’re looking forward to our official reopening when conditions allow!

Village Hall AGM

Posted: 2021-04-12

Ston Easton Village Hall’s AGM will be held via Zoom on Tuesday 20th April at 8pm.

A virtual meeting isn’t ideal, so we hope to have a follow-up Village Meeting and Social Event as soon as restrictions allow. This will be a better opportunity to see the progress that’s been made, and to discuss future plans.

To register your interest, and receive meeting information and Zoom login details, please email the village hall secretary:

We look forward to seeing you there on the 20th!
